West Bengal News: A major accident was almost averted on the first day of secondary examination in West Bengal. Suddenly an LPG cylinder exploded near the examination center of a school located in Tufanganj area of Cooch Behar district. The explosion was so strong that the entire area shook and the students, teachers and parents present inside the examination center got scared.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when food was being prepared in the canteen of the school campus. According to sources, while cooking, the cylinder suddenly caught fire and within a few moments there was a massive explosion. Hearing the sound of the explosion, the students present inside the examination hall trembled in fear. Many students got scared and started running outside, while there was chaos among the parents present outside too.
There is no news of any casualty in the accident
However, it is a matter of relief that there is no news of any casualty in this accident. The police reached the spot and immediately took control of the situation and took the burnt cylinder out of the school premises to the ground and removed it safely. Police officials said that if action was not taken in time, this accident could have taken an even more horrific form.
The matter is being investigated
After the incident, there was an atmosphere of tension in the examination center for some time. Parents appeared worried about the safety of their children. The administration and school management pacified the students and ensured that there was no impact on the examination process.
Police say that in the preliminary investigation it appears to be an accident, which occurred due to fire in a gas cylinder while cooking in the canteen. The entire matter is being investigated whether safety standards were followed or not.
