The Election Commission has given blunt advice to TMC. A post has also been issued by the Commission regarding this. The Election Commissioner has also shared a picture in this post. In this post, the Election Commission has written that the Election Commission has bluntly criticized the Trinamool Congress. This time elections in West Bengal will be without fear, without violence, without threats, without allurement, without raids and without booth and source jamming. This statement came shortly after the tense atmosphere of the meeting held on Wednesday between a TMC delegation and the full bench of the Election Commission of India ended.
Earlier, TMC leaders alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner told them to ‘go away from here’, while the Commission also accused the TMC leaders of shouting. Earlier, a delegation comprising Trinamool Congress leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien, deputy leader Sagarika Ghosh, MPs Saket Gokhale and Maneka Guruswamy met the full bench of the Election Commission, a few days before the West Bengal elections.
What did TMC leaders say to the media?
After the meeting, O’Brien told the media that he handed over nine letters from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, which were ignored. Trinamool leaders also informed the Election Commission about some cases in which some election officials have been accused of having links with the BJP and demanded their transfer.
Here on the whole matter, O’Brien has said that we have given him six such examples in which officials are part of the election process. He has relations with BJP. In this, an example was given of the Chief Electoral Officer being with a local BJP leader in Nandigram. The Trinamool Congress MP said that a memorandum has been submitted in this regard.
O’Brien alleged that we asked the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) how he can conduct fair and free elections when such tainted officials have been appointed in Bengal. His reply to this was ‘Go away from here.’

Commission accused TMC leaders of shouting
Meanwhile, the Commission accused the Trinamool leaders of shouting and also said that the Commission will conduct fair and free elections in the state. The commission said in a post on ‘X’ that it had ‘spoken directly’ to the Trinamool Congress delegation. The Election Commission said that it told the Trinamool Congress that this time the elections in West Bengal will definitely be fear-free, violence-free, threat-free and inducement-free. Commission sources accused O’Brien of shouting at the election commissioners and said he told the CEC not to speak.
CEC urges O’Brien to maintain dignity in the chamber
He said that the CEC urged Derek O’Brien to maintain dignity in the commission room. Yelling and rude behavior are not appropriate. According to a source present in the meeting, as soon as the Trinamool delegation reached the meeting, the CEC pointed out that their authorized representative was not present. O’Brien then asked if they were unauthorized and should they leave. After submitting their memorandum, Trinamool leaders told the CEC that they wanted ground action, not just words. Trinamool leaders have rejected the claims of the Commission. Sagarika Ghosh described the Commission’s claim on X as a complete lie and said, ‘All this was not told to the four-member delegation.
