As the date of assembly elections in West Bengal is getting closer, the political turmoil regarding the politics of the state is also increasing. West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has released her party’s manifesto in view of the state assembly elections, but TMC has released its election manifesto only in Urdu language, hence politics has started regarding it.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Mamata Banerjee of doing linguistic and appeasement politics regarding TMC’s Urdu-language manifesto. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding this step.
TMC’s manifesto is related to Sharia law: Giriraj
According to news agency IANS, while talking to the media in Bihar’s capital Patna on Saturday (April 4, 2026), Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Mamata Banerjee has not only released the manifesto in Urdu, but TMC also has a hidden agenda behind it. He alleged that this agenda is related to Sharia law and work is being done as part of a well-planned plan to make West Bengal like Bangladesh.
He claimed that now the people of the state, especially the Hindu community, have well recognized this alleged real face. This time the election has become like a live or die situation for West Bengal. He further said that the people of West Bengal will play a decisive role in the assembly elections this time and will vote unitedly against such policies.
Mamta Banerjee does not answer on public issues: Giriraj
According to the report, Union Minister Giriraj Singh had also strongly criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday (April 3, 2026). He had said that during her 15 years of tenure, Mamata Banerjee had only done appeasement politics and did not discuss any serious issue with the public. He had also alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee neither talks nor answers on matters related to poverty, unemployment, violence and rape.
