In the complaint given to the police, Singer said that he wanted to beat me. He was shouting at me and saying onek jaago ma hoyeche ebar kichu secular ga (stop talking about jaago ma, now sing a secular song). Singer also alleged that the officer in-charge of Bhagwanpur police station had refused to register the case, but later the case was registered and Malik was arrested.
what did the police officer tell
Police officer Mithun Dey said that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against the officer in charge of Bhagwanpur police station and another officer. We will take action against them for their negligence. Regarding this matter, BJP alleged that Malik is a member of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
BJP cornered TMC
BJP leader Shankudev Panda said, “West Bengal is in the hands of jihadists. They are directing the singer as to which song she should sing. This is an anti-Hindu attitude.” “When she (Lagnajita Chakraborty) went to the police station, (Chief Minister) Mamata Banerjee’s police refused to register the complaint,” he alleged. There was no immediate reaction from Trinamool Congress.
