West Bengal: Mamta Banerjee’s big step before the announcement of election dates, priests-muezzins will get 2 thousand rupees

Amidst the buzz of election announcement in Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made a big political move. He has made a big announcement just before the press conference of the Election Commission. He has announced to increase the monthly honorarium given to priests and muezzins in the state.

Explaining this decision through a post on social media X, the Chief Minister has said that I am happy to announce that the monthly honorarium given to our priests and muezzins has been increased by ₹ 500. Their service sustains the spiritual and social life of our communities. With this amendment, they will now get ₹2,000 per month.

Apart from this, he said that all the new applications duly submitted by the priests and muezzins have also been approved by the state government.

Election Commission will hold a press conference between 4 to 5 pm

Actually, the Election Commission of India will announce the election schedule between 4 to 5 pm on Sunday. This press conference is to be held in Vigyan Bhawan. Along with this, the fixed schedule of assembly elections to be held in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Union Territory Puducherry will be announced. The population of the states where elections are to be held is approximately one-fifth of the country’s population. That means about 20 crore people live in these places. Their total number is 17 to 18%.
