West Bengal News: A very sad incident has come to light from South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, just a day before Christmas. A child was seriously injured in a sudden explosion in Khadimacha village of Basanti police station area. This incident has created an atmosphere of panic and chaos in the entire village.
Loud noise came from the house under construction
According to local villagers, on Thursday a loud explosion was suddenly heard from an under-construction house in the village. As soon as they heard the sound, people nearby ran towards the spot. When they reached there, they saw that a child was lying on the ground injured and moaning in pain. The villagers got scared after seeing the blood flowing from the child’s body.
Villagers said that the child suffered serious injuries to his fingers and eyes in the explosion. Since the condition was very critical, without wasting any time the child was sent to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata after first aid. At present the child is admitted in the hospital and a team of doctors is treating him. His condition is said to be serious.
Police engaged in investigation
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Basanti police station reached the spot and surrounded the area. The police inspected the spot and started questioning the local people. Police officials say that it is not yet clear whether it was a bomb blast or some other type of explosion. The investigation is being done keeping all the aspects in mind.
There is an atmosphere of fear in the village after this incident. People are apprehensive that if it turns out to be a bomb blast, questions will be raised on the security of the area. Police have assured that after investigation the truth will be revealed and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
