West Bengal News: Once again the news of tiger attack has come out from Sundarban area of West Bengal. A tiger suddenly attacked a woman who had gone to catch crab in the forest area near Kalas Island in Sundarbans. The woman was seriously injured in this attack, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. There is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area due to the incident.
Identification of the injured woman
The name of the injured woman is said to be Shankari Nayak. According to local sources, Shankari Nayak had gone in a small boat with five other people on Monday morning to the forest area of Sundarban to catch crab. This area is known for the movement of tigers, yet people go there risking their lives for their livelihood.
Shankari Nayak was suddenly attacked by a tiger while catching crab in a creek near Kalas Island on Tuesday morning. She was seriously injured in the tiger attack. The other people accompanying him somehow showed courage and raised an alarm, due to which the tiger retreated and the woman’s life was saved.

After the attack, the injured Shankari Nayak was first taken to Patharpratima Rural Hospital in critical condition. After first aid there, when his condition started deteriorating, the doctors referred him to Kakdweep Divisional Hospital. At present his treatment is going on and his condition is said to be critical.
Frequent tiger attacks in the Sundarbans have raised serious questions about wildlife safety and the livelihood of the local people. People living in areas adjacent to the forest earn their living by catching fish and crabs, but their lives are always in danger due to the increasing activities of tigers. Local people have demanded the administration to make adequate security arrangements.
