West Bengal: Trinamool’s Karnagarh zone president Kanchan Chakraborty has been accused of beating up a doctor in Shalbani, West Medinipur for refusing to go home to see the patient. A complaint has been lodged in the police station in this regard. The accused Trinamool leader has claimed that this complaint is being made for political purposes. On the other hand, BJP has taken a dig at the ruling party of the state.

The zonal president of Trinamool has been accused of punishing a doctor in this way for not going to see the sick relative of a Trinamool leader. The victim, Dr Nikhilranjan Ghosh, said, “In an intoxicated state, he grabbed my collar, beat me and dragged me.”

This incident took place in Bhadutala area of ​​Shalbani block of West Medinipur. According to local sources, a relative of Trinamool’s Karnagarh zone president Kanchan Chakraborty was ill. A relative of the Trinamool leader went to his chamber to call local homeopathy doctor Nikhilranjan Ghosh on Monday morning. The doctor claims that the Trinamool leader reached there in an inebriated state after refusing to go home due to illness. Along with beating him, he was also dragged.

Regarding the incident, Nikhilranjan Ghosh said, I told him, you know, I have not come out of the chamber since Covid. My health is also very bad. I have completely stopped seeing patients outside. The Trinamool leader there, Kanchan Chakraborty, came in an intoxicated state and grabbed me by the collar and beat me.

The accused Trinamool leader claims that the doctor’s claim is baseless and politically motivated. Kanchan Chakraborty said, there was no fight. We went to call him four times, but he did not come. Then I went. I did not slap anyone. He was my father’s friend. Can I kill them? Absolutely false. That’s what BJP does.

Protest by keeping dead body in front of doctor’s house

The doctor claims that when he went there he found that the patient had already died. Despite this, a protest was held by placing the dead body in front of his house. The doctor was taken to Medinipur Medical College Hospital after he felt unwell at night due to the incident. He was discharged after first aid. Political allegations and counter-allegations have started regarding the incident.
