Apart from this, the fear of losing or damaging the SIM also goes away. Due to the absence of a SIM tray, the phone becomes more dust and water resistant.
Some limitations of e-SIM
While e-SIM is beneficial in many cases, it also has some shortcomings. If the phone with physical SIM gets damaged then it is easy to remove the SIM and put it in another phone. But this cannot be done in e-SIM. In case the phone gets damaged, you have to reactivate the number through the telecom company. This process sometimes is not completed immediately. Some people also believe that due to being a software based SIM, questions related to privacy may arise.
How is e-SIM in terms of security?
In terms of security, e-SIM and physical SIM are considered almost equal. 3G, 4G and 5G networks are generally more secure than public Wi-Fi. The data sent over the mobile network is encrypted which is not easy to hack. Therefore, using e-SIM does not add any additional risk to the security of the phone.

Which is better between e-SIM and physical SIM depends on your needs. If you prefer easy setup, quick network changes and clean phone design, then e-SIM is a good option. At the same time, if you want simplicity, availability everywhere and facility to change SIM instantly, then physical SIM will be right for you. In both situations, it is wise to keep a backup of data and network settings.
