Regarding this match, Pakistan fast bowler Salman Mirza said on Monday, February 9 that the team is preparing to play the entire T20 World Cup 2026 and will also play the match against India after getting permission from the government. In the press conference before the match between America and Pakistan, Salman Mirza was asked whether there was any discussion in the team regarding the match against India. In response, Mirza said, ‘We are preparing for the entire tournament. We will play according to the opposing team. The decision will be taken by the government and we will do what is asked of us.

Sri Lanka-UAE urge PCB to reconsider the decision

The cricket boards of Sri Lanka and UAE have also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reconsider its decision. A PCB source said that Aminul appreciated the solidarity shown by Pakistan towards Bangladesh cricket and requested Naqvi to end the boycott. The source said that Naqvi will probably request the Prime Minister to allow the team to play against India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Naqvi will give details to the Prime Minister especially about the requests of Sri Lanka, UAE and Bangladesh boards and the recent talks.
