Shoaib Akhtar, T20 World Cup 2026: Team India, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, won the title of 2026 T20 World Cup last Sunday (08 March). After this victory, a wave of happiness ran across the country. But everyone became sad in the neighboring country Pakistan. Many former players and cricket experts of Pakistan were making New Zealand win in the T20 World Cup final, but India won. Shoaib Akhtar got irritated after India’s victory.
Akhtar said after the match that the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has ruined cricket. Apart from this, Akhtar compared the Indian Cricket Board to a rich child, who shows his strength by calling the poor.
Akhtar’s statement went viral
While talking on Pakistan’s ‘Game On Hai’ show, Shoaib Akhtar said, “It is like a rich child in a locality calls all the poor children and says, ‘Let’s play cricket.’ This is exactly what India is doing to us. Of the eight teams, they keep four and of those four, they re-draw three and advance. Then he says, ‘Look, I won.’ He has ruined entire cricket.”
India won 3 consecutive ICC trophies
It is noteworthy that Team India has won three consecutive trophies in the last two years. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Indian team won the title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After this, Men in Blue registered victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy. This trophy also came under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Now in the 2026 T20 World Cup, Team India won under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.
In this way the Men in Blue got their names written on 3 consecutive trophies. Now it will be interesting to see to what extent the Indian team maintains this streak.
