Know who is Neha Singh
According to DNA report, Neha Singh is an Assistant Professor at Galgotia University and has been working here since August 2023. She works on projects related to artificial intelligence and robotics on behalf of the university and keeps participating in different academic and technical forums. Neha Singh started her career from Presidency University, Bengaluru and COER Roorkee. She completed her PhD from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus in 2020. Apart from this, Neha Singh has also done M.Tech in Computer Science from ABV-IIITM Gwalior.
Know what was the controversy
The controversy started when Neha Singh showed off her four-legged robotic dog “Orion” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. He told that this robot has been made by the Center of Excellence of the University and it has been linked with an investment of Rs 350 crore. After the video went viral, technical experts and social media users described it as similar to the Unitree Go2 robot of Chinese company Unitree Robotics. This robot is available in the world at a price of only ₹ 2–3 lakh.
Galgotias University’s response
As criticism increased, Galgotias University clarified that it had neither created this robot nor made any such claim. The administration said the robot is a learning tool for students and called it a “classroom tool.”
