She posted on X that she was appointed by the President and was working as an advisor to the White House Religious Freedom Commission.

He said that his resignation is due to the injustice and atrocities being committed by this administration at home and abroad. In the post he has mentioned in detail the reasons for his resignation. Munshi said she was resigning in protest against two developments which she described as extremely worrying.

Resignation given regarding these 2 matters
The first case was the removal of Commissioner Carrie Prejean-Bolar from her post, which she said was due to her beliefs about Palestine. The second issue is the government’s illegal war against Iran. Which he argued was started without explicit constitutional or parliamentary authority.

What was said about Muslims in America?
Munshi also alleged that some members of the commission ridiculed my religion and behaved in a hostile manner towards my community. Munshi claimed that the rights of American Muslims are being ignored. He also explained that his family, which includes both Christians and Muslims, came to America fleeing religious discrimination and persecution, which has shaped his commitment to religious freedom and his perception of America as a safe place for people of all religions.

He claimed that people of faith are being stripped of their freedom of expression and their lives are being put in danger because of their deeply held beliefs about Palestine and all this is being done to further a Zionist political agenda.

Munshi, the former director of the Institute for Religious Freedom, told Middle East Eye that she had begun feeling isolated since September 2025, when she testified before the commission that testifying against Israel’s killings of Palestinians in schools is a constitutionally protected right.
