Why did Mukesh Chhabra cast an actress 20 years younger than Ranveer Singh in ‘Dhurandhar’? Said- ‘The answer will be found in Part 2’

There was a lot of discussion about the age gap of almost 20 years between Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun in the film ‘Dhurandhar’. Mixed reactions were seen regarding this pairing on social media. Many people opposed it, while some said that this pairing is justified according to the story and characters of the film. Now the casting director of the film has broken his silence on this entire matter.

The film’s casting director Mukesh Chhabra told that Sara Arjun, who was 20 years younger than Ranveer Singh, was deliberately cast in ‘Dhurandhar’. He told that this was kept for the ‘narrative requirement’ of the script.

‘The answer will be found in Part 2’
Mukesh Chhabra said in an interview to Free Press Journal- ‘I had received very clear instructions. The story is that he is trying to trap her. So, we knew that we wanted a young girl of 20-21 years and when Part 2 comes, all those talking about the age difference will get all the answers.

‘This age difference was needed in the film’
Mukesh Chhabra further said- ‘It is not that we do not have good actresses of 26-27 years of age; We have good actresses. But this age difference was needed in the film. Not everything can be explained. When I was also reading about the age difference, I was laughing. This is correct according to the narrative of the film.

Mukesh Chhabra’s official statement is clear that the age gap was not kept just for controversy, but was necessary for the story and character arc. This pairing is justified according to the plot and characters of the film. There is going to be a full explanation of this choice in the sequel, so that the audience will be able to fully understand why this pairing was essential for the story.
