Trinamool Congress has made Babul Supriyo the Rajya Sabha candidate, before this there was talk that he could contest from TMC in the upcoming assembly elections. Babul Supriyo himself has reacted regarding being made Rajya Sabha candidate.

What did Babul Supriyo say?

TMC MLA Babul Supriyo said about being made Rajya Sabha candidate, ‘It is a very happy occasion, it feels very good. I thank Didi (Mamata Banerjee), our National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and my party. I think Didi, Abhishek and the party have set an example of how to support and inspire someone.

‘A big surprise was waiting for me…’

Supriyo further said, ‘He had requested the party through his friend Derek O’Brien that I want to give 10 years only to music. I wanted a gap of 5-10 years and did not want to contest elections this time. But a big surprise was waiting for me. My boss has my report card and if you have any questions for me; Then they will show you.

TMC expressed confidence

The party has once again expressed confidence in TMC leader Babul Supriyo. Former BJP MP Supriyo has also been a Union Minister, later he was removed from the post of minister, after which he joined TMC. He won the by-election from Ballygunge seat from TMC. He has been MP from Asansol twice. After joining TMC, he is active in Bengal politics. The party wants to send this decision of sending a well-known and experienced face to the Rajya Sabha.

TMC made these four candidates

Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced the names of four candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. TMC has made Babul Supriyo, former West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar, senior advocate Maneka Guruswamy and Bengali film actress Koel Mallik its candidates.
