‘Why don’t BJP’s double engine states match Karnataka?’ When Ashwini Vaishnav said thank you to Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah gave this answer

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday (26 December 2025) alleged that Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is trying to steal the success of Karnataka by taking credit for the state’s achievements. He raised the question why double engine governments are unable to match Karnataka’s progress.

Siddaramaiah’s comment came when Vaishnav said in his post on social media that he thanked the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for accepting the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ program.

Reposting the post of the Leader of Opposition, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav wrote, ‘Thank you Rahul Gandhi for accepting the success of Shri Narendra Modi’s Make in India program. As you have said, we are becoming a producer economy by implementing the vision of our PM.

In his Facebook post, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned the record recruitment in Foxconn’s women-led iPhone unit in Bengaluru, Karnataka. For this Facebook post of his, Ashwini Vaishnav had written thank you on X. Rahul Gandhi said that Karnataka is setting an example by creating such an ecosystem where manufacturing can grow so fast.

30 thousand recruitments in Foxconn unit

Taiwanese electronics company ‘Foxconn’ is the largest manufacturer of iPhone and its second largest factory outside China is located in Devanahalli near Bengaluru. About 30 thousand recruitments took place in this women led unit in just eight to nine months. The age of most of the employees is between 19 to 24 years and this is their first job for most of them.

Why don’t BJP ruled states match Karnataka?

Taking aim at Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, CM Siddaramaiah said in a post on X, “If Make in India is really successful then why can’t it match the performance of BJP’s double-engine state, Karnataka?”
