Not only Ekta but her brother Tusshar Kapoor also decided not to marry. Both the brothers and sisters were so engrossed in their work that they did not even think of marriage. Ekta told that once she had an open discussion with Jitendra about this and her father Jitendra said, ‘Marry one of the two’. Then Ekta asked him why he wanted this and she got the answer ‘child’. In such a situation, both Ekta and Tushar gave grandchildren to their parents and decided to become mother and father without marriage.
