T20 World Cup 2026 Semifinal Final Venue: The 2026 T20 World Cup started from 7 February. A total of 20 teams took part in the tournament, out of which eight teams have advanced to the Super-8. The matches of the Super-8 stage have also started, but till now it is not known where the semi-final and final matches of the World Cup will be played. Know here the biggest reason behind this.
T20 World Cup 2026 is being hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Therefore, some matches were to be hosted in India and some matches were to be played in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, no match of Pakistan was to be played in India, because before the Champions Trophy 2025, a hybrid model was agreed upon between BCCI and PCB under the mediation of ICC.
This hybrid model means that in the ICC events to be held from 2024-27, the matches between India and Pakistan will be held at neutral venues. But what does this hybrid model have to do with the semi-final and final matches of T20 World Cup 2026?
Pakistan is the reason
The venue of the semi-finals and final of the T20 World Cup 2026 is yet to be revealed, the main reason behind this is Pakistan. Because Pakistan will play its matches in Sri Lanka. Actually, if it goes to the semi-finals then its semi-final match will be played in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan does not go to the semi-finals, then that match will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The second semi-final will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The venue of the final will depend on whether Pakistan goes to the final or not. If the Pakistan team goes to the final then the final will be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. If Pakistan does not reach the final then the final match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
