Former US Navy officer and defense expert Malcolm Nance has called it a dangerous plan. He said that this work can be completed in at least 2 weeks, but along with this he also mentioned a big problem. Nance said that American commanders in the Middle East had analyzed this plan 40 years ago. Malcolm said that at that time it was estimated that 6,000 Marine soldiers as well as all the equipment deployed on several islands would be required.

Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Malcolm said the Strait of Hormuz could provide a secure platform if the Pentagon brings an Expeditionary Sea Base ship from Italy to the Indian Ocean.
