Samsung started launching thin phones last year with the Galaxy S25 Edge. Apple also launched iPhone Air in September. Now other companies are also working on making their phones thinner, but thin phones were not successful for both Samsung and Apple. Despite low sales, Apple has planned to launch the next generation variant of iPhone Air, iPhone Air 2, this year, but Samsung has given up. Let us know about Samsung’s planning regarding thin phones.
Will Samsung bring a new phone to compete with iPhone Air 2?
According to media reports, Samsung will not launch the next generation variant of Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung Mobile Experience Chief Operating Officer Won Joon Choi told Bloomberg that sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge were lower than other models. He believes that due to the small battery pack, people did not like this phone and its sales were low. Choi said that people may have different needs and preferences. The sales of S25 Edge show that not everyone likes thin phones. Samsung has not yet decided whether Galaxy S26 Edge will be launched or not.
Company is also in dilemma regarding trifold phone
Samsung had launched its first trifold phone Galaxy TriFold just a few days ago. It has been launched only in select markets including South Korea and America. This phone gets sold out immediately on Samsung’s website, but the company is in a dilemma regarding this. Samsung is not completely sure about bringing the second generation variant of this phone which is priced at around Rs 2.6 lakh. Choi said that Trifold was brought in to create a new category. Now the company is considering whether it should bring a new model or not. No decision has been taken on this yet.
