To avoid this situation, Chinese company Honor is going to come up with a new solution. The company has shown a glimpse of a battery as thin as a card. This ultra-thin silicon-carbon blade battery can change the entire smartphone segment in the coming times.

In a short video clip, Honor has shown a battery as thin as a card. In this, not only the ultra-thin profile of the battery has been shown but also an attempt has been made to show that despite being thin, there will be no reduction in its durability. The company has not shared details regarding this, but it is being claimed that it has more silicon content, due to which its capacity will be more than the 5th generation silicon-carbon pack. Honor Magic V6 will be provided with 5th generation silicon-carbon battery pack, which will have 25 percent more silicon content and its capacity can be 6,600mAh.
What is silicon-carbon battery?
Silicon-carbon battery is a new type of battery cell, which comes with silicon anodes. It has high energy density, which means it can store more energy in less space. Talking about traditional lithium-ion batteries, they have graphite anodes. Their energy density is 250-300 Wh/kg grams, whereas silicon-carbon batteries come in the 400-500 Wh/kg range. Till now only Chinese companies have been using this technology in their smartphones, but now reports are coming that Samsung can also provide silicon-carbon batteries in the upcoming Galaxy S series models. However, its official confirmation has not been done.
