Shreya Ghoshal exposed the music industry
Shreya Ghoshal recently appeared in Raj Shamani’s podcast. Where the singer talked about many things about the music industry. When asked why did you say that 2013 was your year of downfall? Answering this question, Shreya said, ‘Yes, because at that time we took a stand on royalty, the industry got divided into two parts.’
He said, ‘There is no rulebook in our industry, that is why it was a very bad time at that time which forced you to think whether it is right to continue in this industry. Singers were never given agreements, no money was given, even the singers had no credit in that song. We had no rights on that song, such was the system.
She further said, ‘But now this change is coming, I respect those artists who made their own path without film support. Whether he sings well or badly, he has respect in my eyes. Because performers, singers and composers have been harassed a lot. Will neither give money nor give credit. It was said that your song is done, you have nothing to do with it, so there is no right way.
Changes happened after 2013
Shreya further said, ‘This was the year when singers realized who was made of what and we took a stand. After this, milk became milk and water became water. But because of that, the careers of some good singers and musicians started declining and new people started coming into the industry. Aashiqui came at the same time and then some hope arose that there were some good people in the industry who were supporting the singers.
