Gaurav Gogoi said that many women are not able to maintain a proper balance between household responsibilities and business related work. The reason for this is that it is necessary to attend the meetings of the ruling party BJP here. This type of system has placed an economic and mental burden on women.
He also said that earlier governments implemented welfare schemes without any political discrimination. The beneficiaries were never asked which party they supported. She alleged that women feel forced to participate in political activities.
According to Gogoi, the aim of the Congress Party is to break this bond. This is to ensure that every eligible citizen, irrespective of party support, gets government assistance. He said future Congress-led initiatives will focus on inclusive welfare policies without political conditions.
Rapidly increasing crime in the state
Apart from this, Gogoi has also expressed concern over the increasing crime rate in Assam. He alleged that incidents of crimes against women have increased. In many cases FIR is not registered. Whereas the Home Department is with the Chief Minister himself.
