Karnataka News: A shocking case of fraud in the name of marriage has come to light from Mangaluru, Karnataka. A young man working abroad cheated many women by luring them into a love trap, which his wife has revealed. Victim Preeti has filed a complaint against accused husband Manish at Mangaluru Women Police Station.
With the increasing use of social media and digital platforms, cases of marriage fraud are coming to light rapidly. Similarly, Manish and Preeti were identified through Facebook. Initially there was a normal conversation between the two, which gradually turned into a love affair. After this Manish proposed marriage and pressurized him to get married soon.
The family bore the entire expense of the wedding
Just three days before the marriage, Manish called Preeti and said that he had no money and if the marriage did not take place, he would commit suicide. Fearing this, Preeti and her family bore the entire expense of the wedding. Not only this, he gave about Rs 2 lakh to Manish and also helped him in getting a job abroad. After this Manish went to Dubai and from there reached Bahrain.
After some time Preeti became suspicious of Manish’s activities. When he investigated, shocking revelations came to light. It was revealed that Manish had a love affair with many girls even before his marriage with Preeti and he had been cheating on them by taking money from them. He adopted the same method with Preeti also.
Fraudster exposed, complaint filed in women’s police station
It is alleged that when the victim women asked for their money back, Manish used to escape by saying that he was suffering from brain tumor. On this pretext, he used to break contact with anyone without returning the money. After the truth came out, Preeti decided that she would expose the real face of this fraudster so that no other woman becomes his victim. She lodged a complaint at the Mangaluru Women’s Police Station and also submitted to the police the information and photographs of the women whom Manish had duped. At present the police is investigating the matter.
