Year Ender 2025: Those events of 2025 including Air India plane crash, Mahakumbh stampede, which India will never forget.

The year 2025 was very painful for India in many ways. This year, blasts, stampedes and accidents in different parts of the country changed the lives of hundreds of families forever. At some places there were lapses in security and at some places crowd management was a complete failure. This year was not just a part of the calendar, but became the name of incomplete stories for many families. Let’s take a look at those big events that shook the entire country.

Goa fire (North Goa)

  • Date: 6th December

  • Injured: 5

A massive fire broke out in the nightclub ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ located in Arpora, Goa after midnight on 6th December. 25 people died and more than 5 people were injured in this accident. This terrible accident shocked people.

Karur stampede (Tamil Nadu)

  • Death: 41
  • Injured: 50

There was a rally of actor turned leader Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu. Many people came to the rally to see Vijay. During this time the situation went out of control. Almost three times more than expected, i.e. around 10,000 people had reached the spot. There was a delay in Vijay’s arrival, due to which the crowd became restless and suddenly a scuffle started. People started falling on each other. Many people got trapped in the barricades and many in the stampede. About 41 people lost their lives in this stampede. It was considered the deadliest stampede of 2025.

Chemical factory blast (Telangana)

  • Injured: more than 20

Located in Pashamayalam Industrial Area, Sangareddy District, Telangana. Sigachi Industries Limited 10 people have been confirmed dead in the massive explosion in the pharmaceutical factory, while more than 20 workers were injured. The explosion was so powerful that a large part of the factory collapsed.

Air India plane crash (Ahmedabad)

  • Death: 241
  • Injured: 1

On June 12, 2025, the country’s biggest plane accident occurred in Ahmedabad. The Air India flight crashed less than a minute after takeoff. The plane crashed into a building on the medical university campus a few hundred meters from the runway. In this accident, almost all the passengers on board the plane (except one) and the people present nearby died. The total number of deaths reached 241.

IPL Stampede (Bengaluru)

  • Injured: 33

There is no dearth of fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Virat Kohli. After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first IPL win, a huge crowd gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate. The situation worsened due to the parade route being changed at the last moment and lack of proper planning. The pressure of the crowd was so much that people started falling on each other. 11 people died in this stampede. The question arose as to why crowd control was so weak in such a big event.

Delhi Railway Station Stampede

  • Date: 15 February
  • Death: 15
  • Injured: 12

Due to delay in trains going for Mahakumbh, a huge crowd gathered on platforms 14 and 15 of New Delhi Railway Station. Suddenly the crowd of passengers started moving in many directions simultaneously. There were no clear announcements or guidelines. Within minutes a stampede broke out and many people were killed. Women and children were also included among those who died.

Mahakumbh Stampede, Prayagraj

  • Date: 29 January
  • Death: 30
  • Injured: 36

When the system breaks down in the great confluence of faith, even reverence turns into tears. On the day of Mauni Amavasya, crores of devotees had reached Prayagraj to take bath in Sangam. The pressure of the crowd was so much that the security system responded. Devotees were waiting for Brahma Bela, when suddenly a stampede broke out. Many people were crushed. This incident made it clear how important better planning is in such large religious events.
