Year Ender 2025: This year, AI companies made Indian users happy. Companies trying to outcompete each other in the AI race made their subscription plans free, giving users the opportunity to take advantage of premium features without paying. However, it is not just the users who have benefited from this. AI companies will also get data of crores of people for training their models. Let us know which companies offered their subscriptions for free this year.
Google made its Gemini AI Pro subscription free for Jio users in November this year. There are about 50 crore users of Jio in India and this plan of Rs 1950 per month is being given to them for free for 18 months. Also, last week the company Google has also included India among the countries where it is giving huge discounts on its AI Plus package.
OpenAI
OpenAI has also made the use of its AI chatbot ChatGPT cheaper for Indian users. Some time back, the company has made the ChatGPT Go plan completely free. This plan with a monthly fee of Rs 399 is being given free to all users for one year. In other countries of the world, money is being charged from users for this plan.
Perplexity AI
Like Google, Perplexity is also working in collaboration with telecom company Airtel. Perplexity Pro subscription is being given free to Airtel users in India. With its help, users are able to use this plan for free with an annual subscription fee of around Rs 17,000.
Why are companies kind to India?
The main reason for companies’ favor to India is its user base. There are about 73 crore smartphone users in India, who consume an average of 21GB data every month. By offering their plans for free, the user base of companies has increased rapidly. After ChatGPT Go became free, the number of users of the company has increased by 607 percent on an annual basis.
