Suryakumar Yadav’s biggest T20 innings in the year 2025 is 47 runs, which came against Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium. He remained unbeaten. Apart from this, he could not score above 40 in any match. He was out twice against England and once against Pakistan without opening an account.
The ongoing series against South Africa is India’s last T20 series of this year, in the first match of which Surya was out after scoring 12 runs. In the second match he could score only 5 runs. He scored 12 runs in the third T20 on Sunday.
It was not good for Shubman Gill also Year
The year 2025 was not very good for Shubman Gill in T20 International. He scored 291 runs in 15 T20 International matches this year. No half-century came from his bat this year, while he got out for ‘duck’ after 1.
In the first and second matches against South Africa, he returned to the pavilion in the very first over. Gill, who scored 4 runs in the first match, could not even open his account in the second match. In the third match he scored 28 runs in 28 balls.
World Cup cause for concern
There is T20 World Cup in February-March next year, before which captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill will have to regain their rhythm. After South Africa, now India’s second T20 series is against New Zealand in January next year, that will be India’s last T20 series before the World Cup.
