Assam News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Congress has always done the work of infiltration and rioting, but BJP expels those who do so. Earlier, infiltrators used to take over the rights of the youth, ration of the people of Assam was snatched, but now the double engine government is guaranteeing every citizen of Assam to get their rights. On Friday, CM Yogi addressed a public meeting in favor of BJP candidate Ritu Baran Sarma from Barchhala assembly constituency in the Assam assembly elections. He appealed to the public to press the lotus button on April 9 to make the BJP candidate win with huge votes.
CM Yogi said, “Congress, along with UDF, created an identity crisis in front of this sacred land which has rich cultural heritage, protection of farmers and dusting off foreign invaders. This crisis was not in any one area. Due to the unannounced agreement of Congress and UDF, there was an identity crisis in front of the Assamese race, soil and daughter. They tried to destroy the Assamese identity by following the policy of appeasement.”
He said, “By introducing infiltrators into the soil here, they created an identity crisis for Assam. The rights of the citizens and sisters of Assam were plundered by the infiltrators. A conspiracy was hatched to erase the Assamese culture, but when the BJP government was formed in Delhi under the leadership of PM Modi and first in Assam under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal and then Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam has now become the new center of chip production along with tea.”
Earlier infiltrators used to eat the ration of the poor – CM Yogi
CM Yogi said, “The double engine government is preserving the identity of Assam. It is giving respect to Assamese music-culture, great men, great heroes, warriors. Now a wonderful coordination of development and heritage is visible in Assam. The work of Maa Kamakhya, Shrimant Shankar Dev Corridor and land conservation has started afresh.”
He further said, “In 10 years, the double engine government has extended the benefits of government schemes to the poor without any discrimination. Earlier, the ration of the poor was being eaten by foreign infiltrators, now the people of Assam are getting ration, Ujjwala Yojana, health facility of Rs 5 lakh to every poor under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Prime Minister’s Housing, employment to the youth. Now a special package has been arranged for the sisters, artisans and youth working in tea gardens. Is.”
Congress used to cause infiltration and riots – CM Yogi
CM Yogi said, “The resolution of the double engine government is that the people of Assam will be protected and every infiltrator will be thrown out. Congress used to instigate riots and BJP throws out those who do so. The BJP government is working to build a riot-curfew free Assam. Wherever the BJP government has come, it has brought peace, security and prosperity there.”
Yogi Adityanath said, “Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, there used to be riots and curfew every second-third day. The population of UP is 25 crores, but there has been no curfew, no riots in 9 years, everything has been healed. The work which could not be done in 500 years has also been done in the form of construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.”
Namaz is no longer offered on the roads in UP – CM Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “There is no extremism, Naxalism, separatism in UP, Namaz is not even offered on the streets there. BJP’s double engine government is determined to eliminate Love Jihad, Land Jihad. Congress and UDF need the votes of infiltrators, they cannot guarantee security. These parties want votes at the cost of the country. They are trying to create an identity crisis in front of the youth and create a dent in the security of the country. There are people who are misleading by spreading rumours. Under the leadership of Modi, BJP has done what it said.”
The Chief Minister said, “No Prime Minister has come so many times in the 60 years of Congress rule that Modi has visited North-East India. Modi has made 78 visits to North-East India and 36 visits to Assam in 11 years, during which time an environment of peace, security and good governance has been created. In 60 years, Congress could not provide proper connectivity, but today there is road, railway, air and inland waterway connectivity to every state in the North-East. Earlier there were medical colleges, not engineering colleges. But the double engine government has given AIIMS, IIM, IIT, NIT to North-East India and Assam has become the center of world class institutions.
Congress and UDF cannot guarantee security and employment – Yogi
CM Yogi said, “Earlier, infiltrators used to take over the rights of the youth and steal the ration of the people of Assam, but now the double engine government is taking the guarantee of providing the rights to every citizen of Assam. If Ram temple in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor in Kashi were constructed, then the grand corridor of Maa Kamakhya is also being constructed with the same grandeur.”
He said, “Only the double engine government of BJP will give this guarantee, Congress will not give this guarantee. Only the double engine government will guarantee employment to the youth and security to the sisters. Congress and UDF cannot give this guarantee. They are the people who are making a dent in the security. They are the people who are playing with the culture of India through infiltrators. Congress and UDF cannot be trusted. The double engine government will guarantee security, service, good governance, prosperity, jobs to the people of Assam.”
Assam is the sacred land of Indian pride – CM Yogi
Describing Assam as the sacred land of Indian pride, CM Yogi mentioned Singri Gupteshwar, Lachit Borphukan of Ahom dynasty, Brahmaputra river and Mother Kamakhya. He said, “This land gave identity to the country in adverse circumstances. On one hand, the result of the hard work of the workers is that the tea from here provides energy to the people in the markets and homes of the world; on the other hand, this holy land gave gems like great sons Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika and Gopinath Bordoloi. The BJP government also honored the personalities associated with this holy land for their contribution and preservation of Assamese culture.”

He was presented with an Assamese cap (Jaapi) and an Assamese drum as symbols of the state. The Chief Minister also enjoyed playing the Assamese drum while wearing this cap. He also looked very happy. During this, when the announcer said ‘Swagtam’, the entire public meeting place echoed with the sound of ‘Swagtam-Suswagtam’.
It is noteworthy that the Assamese cap (Jaapi) is an integral part of the Assamese identity. This cap made of palm leaves is used by the farmers of Assam to protect themselves from the strong sun and rain. During the Ahom rule, Japi became a symbol of the prestige of the state. Japi is not just a cap, but a symbol of respect. It is also worn during the Bihu dance and there is a tradition of gifting it to guests as a mark of respect.
The Assamese Dhol, also known as Bihu Dhol, is a major traditional percussion instrument of Assam. This is the cultural soul of Assam. It is a cylindrical wooden structure, which plays a central role in dance and music during Bohag Bihu. It is played with one hand and a bamboo stick. To preserve this heritage of Assam, the Government of India has given it GI-tag.
