Before its launch next month, leaks related to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S26 lineup are continuously emerging. According to a recent leak, Samsung is going to give a major connectivity upgrade in this series. It is being speculated that the models of this series will come with satellite-based communication standard. This means that for the first time on a Galaxy phone, users are going to get features like satellite messages, emergency calls and SOS.
Will support many standards
According to FCC certification, all the models of the upcoming series will be compatible with many standards related to satellite communication. There is no information about the features that users will get in the FCC documents, but the technical details show that Samsung has decided to provide satellite connectivity in the Galaxy S26 series. Support for supplemental coverage from space and non-terrestrial networks has been mentioned in the certification. Both these technologies have been designed to integrate satellite networks.
This feature is already available in Apple and Google phones
Apple and Google already provide the feature of satellite connectivity in their devices. If this feature is available in the upcoming Galaxy device, then Samsung will also join the list of Google and Apple. Google had given the option of satellite calling and emergency texting in the Pixel 9 lineup. Talking about Apple, the company has been providing this feature with the iPhone 14 series.
When will Galaxy S26 series be launched?
It is expected that Samsung can unveil this series in the last week of February and its sales will start in March. If reports are to be believed, the company will keep 256GB storage as minimum in this series. Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ phones will be launched in 256GB and 512GB versions. Talking about Galaxy S26 Ultra, it will come in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage variants. All three phones can be launched with Black, White, Cobalt Violet and Sky Blue color options.
