You will be shocked to see the teaser of Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Daldal’, it will be released on this OTT platform.

India’s favorite entertainment destination, Prime Video today announced the worldwide premiere date of its Hindi crime thriller series ‘Daldal’ on January 30, and also released a jaw-dropping, creepy teaser. Based on Vish Dhamija’s best-selling book Bhendi Bazaar, Daldal is an Abundantia Entertainment production. It has been prepared for the series by Suresh Triveni and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni. It is directed by Amrit Raj Gupta and the story is written by Triveni along with Srikant Agniswaran, Rohan D’Souza, Priya Saggi and Hussain Hydari. Set in Mumbai, the series follows newly appointed DCP Rita Ferreira of Mumbai Crime Branch, played by Bhumi Pednekar, as she finds herself facing off against a ruthless killer in a high-stakes game of survival. Along with Bhumi Pednekar, the series also stars Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal in lead roles. Daldal will premiere on January 30 across India and in over 240 countries and territories across the world exclusively on Prime Video.

The story of ‘Daldal’ revolves around DCP Rita Ferreira. Rita, a police officer dedicated to justice but also haunted by her past mistakes and inner fears, finds herself caught up in a chilling mission to hunt down a ruthless murderer. The teaser takes the audience into a world where violence and mental fear are not just shocking, but also have a long-lasting impact. The chilling teaser shows the victims being brutally killed – their wrists are slit, raw meat, mobile phones and other objects are stuffed into their mouths. Every crime exposes a twisted mentality. As the investigation progresses, Rita finds herself torn between the brutality of the case and her own inner turmoil. Additionally, they also have to face the biases present within the police force. It is clear from the brutality depicted in the teaser that this series is not for the faint of heart.

At its core, Daldal is not just a crime-suspense story, but also a deep exploration of trauma and morality—the story asks not just who committed the crime, but the much more sinister question of why it was done.

“Crime thrillers are always interesting as they allow us to combine deep, character-centric storytelling with thrilling suspense. But with ‘Daldal’ we aim to push the boundaries of the genre further,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “Daldal is not your typical psychological crime thriller. It’s the traditional ‘Who did it?’ Moving beyond the question of ‘Why did it?’ asks the question of—and weaves themes of trauma, sensitivity, and strength into its story. We are very pleased to announce that we are reuniting with our long-time partner Abundantia Entertainment to present this series, featuring powerful performances from an outstanding cast and a unique atmosphere. We are confident that Daldal will entertain and deeply engage audiences in India and across the world.”

“At Abundantia, we have always strived to present stories that shock the audience, raise questions and stay in the mind long after leaving the screen, and ‘Daldal’ is a powerful example of this,” said Vikram Malhotra, Founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment and producer of Daldal. “Our endeavor is to break the conventional mold of the crime thriller, and with this in mind we have chosen to move beyond the cop-killer story and explore the darker aspects of the human psyche. It is always a pleasure to collaborate with the amazing team at Prime Video, and this time it is special for us to take another bold step in our shared commitment of bringing powerful stories to life by joining forces with the steadfast Suresh Triveni. Under the power of Bhumi, Samara and Aditya and direction by Amrit Raj Gupta, “Daldal redefines the world of crime thrillers, where characters and the consequences of their actions are at the center of the story. We look forward to audiences in India and across the world experiencing this thrilling journey with its global premiere on January 30.”

“What appealed to me most about Daldal was that it doesn’t just depict the act of violence, but explores the morality behind it and the emotional and psychological factors that often go unnoticed. This is a story about guilt, identity and unresolved wounds, told through a crime investigation that feels both unsettling and intensely personal,” said Suresh Triveni, creator and producer of Daldal. Said. “It was important for us to create a thriller that felt almost like horror, where the scares build slowly, the tension builds internally, and each character carries with them their own wounds. In a genre where the action often dominates externally, we wanted to turn the perspective inward, to understand how trauma shapes human behavior and how the past is never completely buried. It was just Srikanth, Rohan, Priya And it was only because of Hussain’s brilliant writing team that it took extraordinary talent both in front of and behind the camera, with an amazing balance of sensitivity and strength, while Amrit’s direction kept the audience engaged till the very end. This gave us complete freedom to explore these dark and difficult aspects of the story without any compromise. I am looking forward to the series premiering in India and across the world on January 30. I am confident that Daldal will appeal to audiences who want to watch crime stories that are thought-provoking and emotional, and that ask not only ‘who did it’ but also ‘why did they become like this’.”
