On Wednesday afternoon, Elon Musk shared a video on X in which a demo of Grok’s latest feature was shown. In the video, the user turns on the camera of his phone and points the camera towards the things around him. Grok then immediately recognizes the scene and explains it in detail in real time.
While sharing the video, Musk wrote:
“Use video mode (turn on the camera) and Grok Voice will explain what you’re seeing.” This means that now users simply turn on the camera and activate video mode and Grok Voice will instantly explain the place, thing or scene in front.
Main advantages of Grok Voice Mode
- No need to type, ask questions through voice commands.
- Get instant information about any place, object or scene by turning on the camera.
- Easy and fast way to replace manual search.
Now Grok can also generate 10-second videos
Apart from voice and camera based interactions, Elon Musk announced another update to Grok AI. Grok can now generate 10-second videos which is double the previous 5-second limit. According to Musk, this update will improve the video quality and make the audio clearer. This improvement has been made to further improve the user experience.
Past controversies and security measures
Elon Musk’s Grok has already been in the news in the tech world because it supports text, image and voice interactions. However, it has also created controversy in some countries, when users complained that Grok was creating deepfake content without permission. Following this controversy, X conducted a detailed investigation and implemented new content filters to increase security on the platform and prevent abuse.
