‘Tore my coat, showed me a gun and said – lawyers like you have to be punished every night…’, obscenity with female advocate in Noida police station, SC shocked

A woman lawyer has made serious allegations against the Noida Police that she was forcibly detained, threatened with a gun and sexually harassed in the police station. The female lawyer filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Friday (December 19, 2025) and said that after sealing the police station, her client was also beaten up and even now he is receiving threats.

According to the Bar and Bench report, the petitioner lawyer said that she had gone to the court to complain about the attack on her client, when her complaint was not registered, she asked to talk to senior officials. The police station was then sealed and his client was beaten up, causing serious injuries. The lawyer told that the police officers took him into custody the next day without any written notice and kept him here for one and a half hour, molested him, threatened him for not filing the complaint and spoke obscene things. A police officer told her, ‘We kill lawyers like you every night…’

The bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice NV Anjaria first asked the petitioner lawyer that if she lived in Noida, why did she not go to Allahabad High Court, but later the court agreed to hear the matter considering the seriousness of it. Senior advocate Vikas Singh, on behalf of the petitioner lawyer, told the court that the police officers switched off the CCTV cameras and the lawyer was sexually harassed in the police station. He has requested that the CCTV footage be seized before it is deleted.

Senior advocate Mahalakshmi Pavani also appeared for the petitioner and said that the police officials have seized her client’s mobile phone and deleted all the videos. He has expressed concern that the lawyer’s life is in danger.

Advocate Vikas Singh also told the court that the case regarding installation of CCTV cameras in the police station and their proper functioning is already pending in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, this matter can be taken as a test case. He said that this should be a message to the entire country that this kind of behavior with a lawyer is absolutely wrong. On this, the court has directed the Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddha Nagar to see that the footage at the time of the incident is not deleted and to seal it.

Advocate Mahalakshmi also said that if such incidents can happen with lawyers then what will be the situation for common people. The court said that if it hears this case under Article 32 of the Constitution, then cases from all over Delhi will start coming here. This article gives the right to appeal directly to the Supreme Court. The court said, ‘Although we would have asked the petitioner to approach the High Court, but the petitioner has made very serious allegations and considering that the matter of installation of CCTV cameras in police stations and their proper functioning is pending in the court, we will hear the matter.’ After this, the court has listed the case for hearing on January 7, 2026.

According to the petition, this incident took place at the police station of Sector 126, Noida, where on December 3, the woman lawyer was molested and forcefully kept in custody. The lawyer also suffered serious head injuries. The petitioner told that she had gone with the lawyer’s dress and ID to file an FIR for the attack on her client. He alleges that the people who attacked the client are associated with a national news channel. The medical report of the client also revealed that he had suffered serious injuries.

When the lawyer went to the police station to lodge an FIR, two police officers refused to register the complaint. After this the lawyer tried to call the Police Emergency Response Service, but the police station was sealed and his client was killed. The lawyer said that the next day he was kept in custody for one to one and a half hours without any written reason.

According to the petition, during the custody, a police officer tore the lawyer’s coat and started searching him, threatened him with a gun and said obscene things to him. According to the petition, the police officer said, ‘Lawyers like you are called every night…’ According to the petition, the lawyer’s phone was seized, videos from his phone were deleted and the CCTV cameras of the police station were disabled or removed. The petitioner lawyer says that his client was pressurized to withdraw the complaint. He said that even though the lawyer was released after some time, he is still receiving threats.
