ISRO successfully launched its reliable rocket PSLV on Monday morning from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. PSLV-C62 took off at 10:17 am and with this the first space flight of the year 2026 was completely successful. Through this mission, ISRO sent a total of 16 satellites into space, which included unique experiments like petrol pump, AI lab and cyber café in space.
PSLV-C62 mission was completely successful
According to ISRO, PSLV-C62 took off on time and the process of placing all the satellites in their designated orbit has started. This was ISRO’s 62nd PSLV mission, which once again proved the rocket’s reliable capability.
India’s first AI lab reaches space
The most special satellite of this mission is MOI-1, which is India’s first orbital AI image lab. It has been jointly developed by Hyderabad-based startup companies TakeMe2Space and Eon Space Labs. MOI-1 is being called a kind of ‘space cloud’, through which people will be able to conduct their experiments directly on the satellite.
Model like cyber café in space
MOI-1 has been designed like a ‘space cyber café’. To use it, neither any examination will have to be given nor any special qualification is required. People will pay only for the time of using the satellite, the price of which is said to be around $2 i.e. around Rs 180 per minute.
World’s lightest space telescope also launched
Along with PSLV-C62, the world’s lightest space telescope named ‘Mira’ has also been sent into space. Its weight is only 502 grams. It is made from a single solid piece of glass, due to which it can easily withstand the shocks of launch.
First glimpse of petrol pump in space
AayulSAT has also been launched in this mission, which will test India’s first on-orbit refueling technology. With this technology, in future satellites can be refueled in space, which will increase their lifespan and also reduce space waste.
Satellites of Nepal and Brazil also included
Nepal’s first satellite ‘Munal’ has also been launched through PSLV-C62 mission, which has been made by school students. Apart from this, many Brazilian satellites and a special orbital temple are also part of this mission.
