In Maligaon area of Assam, Sairang-New Delhi Rajdhani Express collided with elephants, who had come on the railway track, due to which six coaches of the train along with the engine derailed. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of any loss of life or property in this accident. However, 8 elephants died in this incident.
The most reassuring thing about this accident was that no passenger lost his life nor was anyone injured. According to railway officials, the loco pilot applied emergency brakes in time, due to which the damage was limited. The passengers in the train were taken out safely.
