Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has openly praised Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir. The two met before the first T20 match against New Zealand in Nagpur. After this meeting, Tharoor said that being the coach of the Indian cricket team is one of the most difficult responsibilities in the country after being the Prime Minister.
Shashi Tharoor says that being the coach of Team India is a thankless job. He said that while holding this position, lakhs of people question every decision every day, but despite this the coach has to take the team forward without coming under pressure.

Shashi Tharoor shared his picture with Gautam Gambhir on social media platform X. He wrote that Gambhir is of calm nature, strong-willed and a capable leader. According to Tharoor, despite constant criticism, Gambhir is doing his work without fear, which is his biggest strength. Calling Gambhir his old friend, he also wished him all the best for the upcoming matches.

Responding to Shashi Tharoor’s post, Gautam Gambhir thanked him. Gambhir said that the truth of the assumptions made about the coach’s “unlimited power” will be revealed in time. He also said that criticism from his own people does not bother him and he takes it lightly.

The five-match T20 series being played between India and New Zealand is being considered very important for the preparation of T20 World Cup 2026. Team India has made a great start to the series by defeating New Zealand by 48 runs in the first T20 match played in Nagpur.
