‘For the sake of Hindus, Government of India…’, Mohan Bhagwat made a big appeal regarding the security of minorities in Bangladesh.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed concern over the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. He appealed to Hindus all over the world to unite and help the minorities in Bangladesh. He said that unrest and infiltration from Bangladesh is affecting West Bengal and the central government should take up these issues.

‘There should be control on those coming from Bangladesh’

Responding to a question from Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Subhendu Adhikari regarding ‘growing Islamic fundamentalism’ in the state, Bhagwat said, ‘It is for the government to decide who should be allowed to come to India from Bangladesh. There should be control on who will be allowed to come. Describing Hindus as a minority in the neighboring country, he said, ‘They have to remain united to ensure maximum security for themselves.’

‘Indian government will have to do something’

The RSS chief said, ‘We, including all Hindus around the world, will have to help them.’ He said that the Indian government will have to do something regarding the situation of minorities in Bangladesh. Bhagwat said, ‘Maybe they are already doing something, but they cannot be disclosed.’ Regarding West Bengal, he said, ‘If all Hindus unite, it will not take time to change the situation in the state.’ He emphasized that the focus of RSS is on social change and not on political change.

‘Attempt to build Babri Masjid again is a political conspiracy’

Commenting on religious disputes, RSS Chief Bhagwat, referring to the Ayodhya issue, said, ‘After a long hearing, the courts have given the verdict on the Ram Temple and Babri Masjid dispute, due to which the matter has ended. Now the attempt to rebuild Babri Masjid is a political conspiracy to restart the struggle for votes.

On TMC MLA Humayun Kabir’s announcement of building a mosque in Beldanga in Murshidabad district, Mohan Bhagwat said, ‘It is neither in the interest of Muslims nor in the interest of Hindus. It should not happen.’ He said that governments come and go, but religion remains intact, hence no government should be involved in the construction of any religious building.
