The accused officer had asked for Rs 5 lakh as the first installment of bribe from the complainant director on Monday (December 22, 2025). On the other hand, CBI laid a trap and arrested the accused Ankit Aggarwal on the spot while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

Unaccounted cash and assets found from home

While taking further action in this case, CBI raided Ankit Aggarwal’s residence and office in Mumbai. During this period many serious revelations were also made. CBI recovered cash worth Rs 18.30 lakh from the house of the accused officer. At the same time, during the search, documents of two big properties were also found, one worth Rs 40.315 lakh (April, 2025) and the other worth Rs 32.10 lakh (June, 2024), while the audit report of the company and other digital evidence related to the office of the accused have been seized. CBI is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the case and is trying to find out whether other departmental officers were also involved in this conspiracy.
