While on the one hand Iran and America are indicating to come to the table for the second round of talks under Pakistan’s messenger policy, on the other hand, after the Israel-America attack on February 28, the protests on the streets in Iran in support of the government and against America-Israel continued for the 49th day.
Demonstrations in dozens of cities
This time the demonstrations took place not in one or two cities but in dozens of cities. From the capital Tehran to the western cities of Urmia, Loristan, Khermanshah, Chaldaran, Salmas, Ilam, Ishfan, Khorramabad, people took to the streets with Iranian flags at midnight and demonstrated. The most interesting picture was seen from Loristan, where women with guns in their hands are seen giving statements and addressing a rally in support of the Iranian Army.
The woman holding a gun in her hand said that today we all have come to the field wearing shrouds to say that Maryam’s lineage is alive and ready to sacrifice their lives for this Islamic revolution. Similarly, people gathered at Inquilab Square in Tehran at midnight and raised slogans that Commander, you give us orders, we will follow your every order.
Army band also present
Thousands of people took to the streets with Iranian flags in Isfan and Ilam cities of Iran, while prayers were offered on the streets in Khorramabad. A large number of people took to the streets in Chaldaran city of Iran, where a strong demonstration was held demanding revenge for the death of Ayatollah Ali. In the city of Salmas, IRGC and army officers accompanied people on the streets and an army band played tunes to encourage people.
After Trump’s statement on continuing the US Naval Blockade, Tehran Mayor Riza Zakani posted on X that the negotiating table should have been considered not just a means of negotiation but an extension of the battlefield. Also, according to the thinking of the leader of the Islamic revolution, Khamenei, no major decision should be taken without his approval and definite direction.
What did the mayor of Tehran say?
The Mayor of Tehran further said that instead of bowing to Trump’s threats and pressure, trust should be on a brave and active public and the power of the people. Also, most importantly, if America’s claim of naval blockade on Iran is true, then it clearly means that the ceasefire has been broken. We are in a state of war and it should be responded to at the same level.
In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the Iranian government, after Trump’s announcement to continue the blockade, goes to Islamabad for the next phase of talks or conveys any new conditions to America through Pakistan.
