‘If we start a war then this time…’, Khamenei in cross mood, gives direct threat to America

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday (1 February 2026) warned America that if it starts a war, this time it will be a regional war. He compared the protests challenging the Iranian government to a coup. This statement of Khamenei has come at a time when Trump has put two conditions before Iran, which include stopping the nuclear program and stopping action against the protesters.

Iran had planned military exercises in the Persian Gulf on February 1 and 2. The narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf is called The Strait of Hormuz. One-fifth of the world’s oil trade passes through it. Tehran had warned that it would practice firing here. At the same time, the Central Command of the US Army warned on Saturday (31 December 2026) that if tension increases near the US Army, regional partners or commercial ships, then the risk in the region will increase further.

According to Iranian government television, Khamenei said, ‘The Americans should know that if they start a war, this time there will be a regional war in the Middle East. We are not provocateurs and we do not want to attack any country, but Iran will give a befitting reply to anyone who attacks us.
