Google has made Android users happy. Last year, the company provided support for Apple’s AirDrop feature to Pixel 10 devices. With this change, data sharing between Android phones and iPhones became easier. Now this feature is also being brought for Pixel 9 phones. This means that Pixel 9 series phone users will also be able to transfer data from iPhone through AirDrop. Google has said that now Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will also support Apple’s AirDrop feature.
Roll out started from today
Google has said that this feature has started rolling out from today and it will be rolled out for all users in the next few weeks. However, Pixel 9a has been kept out of this roll out and Google has not given any reason for this. Let us tell you that the company will gradually support AirDrop on all Android smartphones.
How to setup?
To use AirDrop on Pixel 9 series phones, you will first have to update the phone’s software and Quick Share extension. After this, if you want to send data from your Pixel device to iPhone, then the iPhone user will have to set the visibility of AirDrop to ‘Everyone for 10 minutes’. This will create a connection and you will be able to share data easily. Google said that this update will make it easier to share high-resolution data from Pixel 9 to iPhone, iPad and MacBook etc.
Data transfer will be absolutely secure
Google says that privacy and speed are priority for it and many layers of protection have been added to the system, due to which the shared files will remain completely secure. This feature uses a direct and peer-to-peer connection, which does not use a server to share files.
