Nowadays smartphones have to face two big challenges continuously. One of these is to maintain a consistently strong signal and the other is to prevent overheating during multitasking and heavy tasks. Different companies are adopting many methods to overcome these, but Vivo is working on an amazing new technology. A patent from Vivo shows that the company wants to tackle both these challenges with one solution.
The antenna system of the phone will also do the work of cooling.
The antenna of a smartphone is a metal strip, which is mounted on the frame of the device. It is quite efficient, but sometimes it gets blocked due to hand blockage i.e. hand grip, due to which the signal becomes weak. To deal with this problem, Vivo wants to use the antenna as the blade of the cooling fan. That means the blades of the phone’s cooling fan will be made from the antenna itself. Let us tell you that this is a concept right now and there is no information as to when Vivo will start including this system in its phones.
What will be the benefit out of this?
This technology will help the phone to catch the signal. With this, instead of remaining fixed at one place, the antenna will rotate like the blades of a fan and will be able to receive better signals while avoiding any kind of blockage. For this Vivo will use capacitive coupling system. In this, it will jump between the air gap between the metal surfaces and it will reach the motherboard wirelessly. If Vivo brings this patent into production then it will have two big benefits. The first advantage will be that this will save space inside the phone, which will open the way for a bigger battery or bigger camera sensor. The second benefit will be that it will help in keeping the phone cool. Due to this, the phone will not heat up during gaming or other heavy tasks.
