Upcoming foldable smartphones: Now foldable smartphones are no longer just an experiment but are becoming the biggest competition ground between tech companies. The year 2026 is going to be especially exciting because many big brands are preparing to launch their new and advanced foldable devices. Everyone from Samsung to Apple is involved in this race.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Wide
Samsung is once again going to strengthen its hold in the foldable segment. This time the company can launch two new book-style foldable Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a new variant Z Fold 8 Wide. This time Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to get a larger battery of 5000mAh, which is considered to be a big upgrade in the last several years. There is also talk of return of S Pen support.
Whereas Z Fold 8 Wide can come with a different design. It can have a cover display of about 5.4 inches and a large inner screen of 7.6 inches. Both phones are likely to have powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and 45W fast charging. They can be launched in the Galaxy Unpacked event in July.
Vivo
Vivo is also not behind in this race. There is news about Vivo X Fold 6 that it can be given a powerful 200MP primary camera which will come with OIS.
Apart from this, it is also expected to have a 50MP telephoto lens, due to which this phone can become special for photography lovers. It is believed that this device can be launched globally around July 2026.
Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Google is also going to strengthen its entry in the market with its new foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. According to the leaked images, a new design and triple camera setup can be seen in it. This phone can work on Google’s 3nm Tensor G6 chipset, which will see a big improvement in performance and AI capabilities. It is likely to be launched in August 2026.
Apple iPhone Fold
The most talked about in the foldable segment is about Apple’s iPhone Fold. It is believed that it may be launched with the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. It can have a main screen of about 7.8 inches and an external display of 5.5 inches.
Also, A20 chip can be given in it which will make it very powerful. The special thing is that Apple can bring back Touch ID in the power button. Talking about the price, it will come in the premium segment and its price can go above Rs 2 lakh.
