Retired army colonel attacked with beer bottles, police alerted after social media post, 5 arrested

A case of attack on a retired army colonel Anil Yadav (50) with beer bottles has come to light in Gurugram, Haryana. Here six youths attacked him with beer bottles. They also kicked and punched him. The incident is said to have happened on the night of 21st February. The retired army officer was returning alone from Medanta Hospital after a family medical emergency.

During this time, after a collision between two vehicles, the officer was allegedly attacked by people sitting in another car. He got hurt due to this. His car was damaged. He was admitted to Artemis Hospital in Gurugram. Where he is undergoing medical treatment. However, he has been discharged.

5 people arrested

After the incident, local army officials contacted the police to coordinate and follow-up the matter. Now an FIR has been registered in this matter under sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) in Sector 50. 5 people have been arrested in this case. Meanwhile, the victim officer has been discharged. He has returned to his home. The case is being investigated.

Colonel Rohit Dev had posted on no action

Earlier, due to no action taken by the police, Colonel Rohit Dev has posted on social media tagging everyone from Gurugram Police to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and Prime Minister. Colonel Rohit has said in his post that Colonel Anil Yadav was returning home from Medanta Hospital late on the night of 21 February after taking care of his ailing father. Meanwhile, his car collided with the vehicle moving in Sector 50.

Who are all the five accused?

The five accused have been identified. Among them is 23 year old Pankaj who is a resident of Rewari district. The second one is 21 year old Vikas, he is a resident of Bagthala. 21 year old Nikhil Masani is a resident of Rewari. Apart from this, 22 year old Sahil who is a resident of Khedi Talwana. 22 year old Ankit Kumar is a resident of Khedi Talwana.
