Enraged over refusal to marry, young man attacks girlfriend with knife, grandmother who came to her rescue dies, sister injured

Tamil Nadu News: 45-year-old Bhupathi, a resident of Kondegoundanpalayam area near Pollachi in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, works in two-wheeler repair. He lives with his 65-year-old mother Thirumathal, wife Kalaiyarasi and daughters Haritha, 18, and Kaushika, 17.

Harita left school after class 10th and is working in a private company. Kaushika has studied till tenth class. In such a situation, it is being said that 24 year old Abhishek and Kaushika, residents of Kambalankarai Negamam, are in love with each other for the last three years.

Girl’s parents refused to marry

Some time ago, Abhishek had reached Kaushika’s house with his parents with a marriage proposal, but the girl’s parents refused saying that Kaushika is not of marriageable age, hence she cannot get married yet and when she is at the right age, they can talk about it.

Abhishek was pressurizing Kaushika for marriage. In such a situation, Abhishek went to Kaushika’s house on Monday night and started talking about marriage again. During the argument, he stabbed Kaushika several times with a hidden knife. When his grandmother Thirumathal and sister Haritha, who came to intervene, tried to stop him, Abhishek attacked them too and fled from the spot.

Kaushika and Thirumathal died

The three people lying drenched in blood were taken out of the neighborhood and sent to Pollachi Government Hospital. The doctors who examined them there told that both Kaushika and Thirumathal had already died. Harita is injured in her hand and is undergoing intensive treatment.

On receiving the information, Negamam police reached the spot, took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Six special teams have been formed on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police to catch the absconding murderer Abhishek.
