CENTCOM said, ‘More than 10,000 US Navy, Marine and Air Force personnel, more than a dozen warships and dozens of aircraft are carrying out the mission of blockade of ships entering and leaving Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz.’ “During the first 24 hours, no ships could pass the US blockade and six merchant ships followed the instructions of US forces and turned back to an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman,” CENTCOM said.

US Central Command further said, ‘This blockade is being implemented impartially on ships of all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports located in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.’ CENTCOM stressed this, saying, ‘US forces are also cooperating in maintaining freedom of movement in the Strait of Hormuz for ships traveling to and from non-Iranian ports.’
US forces deployed in the blockade
