Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Congress and the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The party alleged that Nehru always acted like a Britisher and deliberately compromised the interests of the country. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sambit Patra claimed that Nehru’s decisions affected the country’s security and sovereignty.
Activity of CIA and KGB in Nehru’s office
Sambit Patra said during the press conference at BJP headquarters that CIA and KGB agents were active in Nehru’s office. He alleged that Nehru compromised India’s security by handing over secret documents to foreign agencies. Patra said, ‘Samjhota Chacha’ had such a strong foreign presence in his secretariat that his special assistant MO Mathai was called an American agent. In the 1960s, KGB agents were also present in his office. Any document required was immediately available to American or Russian agencies.
Nehru’s policy on Tibet and Aksai Chin
Patra claimed that Tibet was handed over to China under the Panchsheel Agreement. He said that Nehru was informed by IB that China was building a road in Aksai Chin, but Nehru completely ignored it. He said that Nehru was trying to help China.
1962 China War and Army appointments
The BJP leader said that Nehru was responsible for India’s defeat by China in 1962. She appointed her relative, General BM Kaul, as Chief of the Army Staff and adopted a forward policy, which caused losses to the country.
Barubari and areas ceded to Pakistan
Patra alleged that Nehru gave the Barubari area to Pakistan without informing the West Bengal government. He said, ‘Despite the decision of the Supreme Court, Nehru handed over Barubari to Pakistan through the ninth constitutional amendment. India is suffering losses today because of the agreements made at that time.
