Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the US-Israeli attack on Iran. After the news of the attack in Tehran, massive demonstrations broke out in many areas of the old city of Hyderabad on Saturday (28 February). Men and women of Shia community including Tanzeem-e-Jafri took to the streets in large numbers. He held up Khamenei’s pictures in his hands and strongly condemned the joint US-Israeli attack.

When hundreds of people present near Charminar were peacefully shouting slogans in the afternoon. The police are monitoring the situation with heavy force and no untoward incident has taken place so far. The protesters were saying that Khamenei was the supreme leader of Shia Muslims. How can we expect that Iran will remain silent by killing him?
What did the protesters say?
A young protester said, ‘This is an inhuman and immoral attack in the holy month of Ramadan. The talks in Geneva were close to success, but America stopped and attacked. The community also appealed to the Indian government to condemn this unlawful death. These demonstrations took place in the background of the attack on 28 February.
Iran’s counter-attacks after Khamenei’s death
Iran confirmed that Khamenei was martyred in the joint attack by America and Israel. Iran immediately started retaliatory missile attacks. People of the old city are saying that India should maintain balance on both sides. The dream of becoming a world leader will be fulfilled only when the livelihood of millions of Indians and the economy of the country will be secure. Peaceful demonstration in Lucknow-Kashmir also
Similar peaceful demonstrations took place in Kashmir and Lucknow also. The Shia community has declared three days of mourning. The Government of India has appealed to remain vigilant for the safety of citizens. MEA has said that the situation is under monitoring.
