Speaking to NDTV, Mandana said, ‘People of Iran were protesting there for years. We have lost people. We have lost mothers, children, universities, the list is long. Nobody celebrates death but what this regime, those people did to us, I am sure you must have seen the videos of the last few months. January 8, January 9 when 1000 people were murdered. Iranians started dancing and celebrating the death of their own people. My own family, my friends, when they used to call me, they used to say do you know how many people died.

He further said, ‘We will celebrate now because for many years we were asking the world to please help us. This government was like a cancer in the Middle East. When you see their attacks, it is happening inside the Middle East. This is not planned and organized. They are attacking restaurants. And we also feel the same. We have been fighting for more than 48 years. There is an Islamic Republic government in Iran since 1979.

Apart from this, Mandana said that she is sad to see the protests taking place in India in support of the Iranian government. Mandana said, ‘Right now my heart is very broken because the protests that are taking place in India are in support of that government there. I went to do a candlelight protest two weeks ago for my people and I did not get permission.
