Politics has now intensified after the Constitution Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation was passed in the Lok Sabha. This matter is no longer limited to Parliament only, but has reached the streets. After the bill could not be passed, different political parties are blaming each other. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi held a press conference on this issue and said that women’s reservation should be implemented within the existing membership of the Lok Sabha. He described the defeat of this bill as a victory for the Constitution and a victory for the unity of the opposition.
After this statement of Priyanka Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party hit back at her. On behalf of BJP, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Smriti Irani targeted Congress in a press conference. Smriti Irani said that Congress behaved in the press conference as if they had done a favor. He alleged that Congress celebrated the fact that the rights of the women of the country were snatched away from them. He also said that Congress is taunting BJP that someone is trying to become a messiah, while the problem of triple talaq persisted during their time. He also responded to the opposition’s allegation as to why the Parliament session was held amid elections. He said that even before this there have been such situations, like there was a session during the elections in Himachal Pradesh and everyone knows who won there.

Ravi Shankar Prasad made allegations
Ravi Shankar Prasad also reacted to Priyanka Gandhi’s statement. He said that he usually does not comment on Priyanka Gandhi, but this time he was wrong. He said that it is not correct to say that women are being used because women are not objects. Ravi Shankar Prasad accused Congress of hurting the hopes of women and its true face has come to light. He said that Congress does not understand the Constitution and they need to explain it. He also said that BJP will take this issue to every village.
Kiren Rijiju’s target on Congress
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also expressed his displeasure on this matter. He said that the opposition did not allow the bill giving reservation to women to be passed, due to which everyone is sad. He said that this sadness is because women did not get their rights. Rijiju also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s statement and said that if he says that giving reservation to women is not democratic, then it is difficult to convince him. He also accused Congress of being anti-women.
