Iran’s Conflict With Israel and US LIVE: The Middle East seems to be teetering amid rising incidents of missile and drone strikes in the region. Escalating attacks and exchange of barrage of missiles since the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have deepened the conflict between Iran and US-Israel.
Tehran and its allies launched retaliatory strikes in Gulf states and Israel as they vowed to take revenge. The latest series of attacks targeted places in the region bearing US imprint such military bases and diplomatic facilities across the Middle East. Iran named the recent escalation “Operation Truthful Promise 4” in response to United States’ “Operation Epic Fury” and Israel’s “Operation Roaring Lion.” As the crossfire continues, the spillover effect of the war can be seen in the Middle East. The immediate impact of the war was a sudden spike seen in oil prices.
The US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was the latest to be set on fire. Following the reported incursion of two Iranian drones, a massive explosion rocked the compound. Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry confirmed the news and said that the drone attack caused limited fire and minor material damage to the building. This incident came a day after US Embassy in Kuwait City was struck.
With no clear timeline over the end of this conflict, US President Donald Trump on Monday said operations are likely to last four to five weeks but that he was prepared “to go far longer than that.” Speaking to NewsNation, Trump warned Iran of more aggressive counter strikes and said, “You’ll find out soon what the retaliation will be” while referring both to the Embassy strike and to the deaths of US military personnel in the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
As US allies pledged to help stop Iranian missiles and drones, Tehran’s top security official Ali Larijani vowed on Tehran has officially moved to block the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to disrupt 20% of global oil supply.
